• How fast will this gift set ship?

  We ship to the lower 48 states with FedEx. Orders placed Monday through Wednesday usually leave our Boulder factory in one to two business days, and later orders ship the next Monday. FedEx delivery then takes one to three business days, so order a few days ahead for holidays and birthdays.

• Can I pick up a gift set in Boulder?

  Yes. Choose local pickup at checkout and collect your order for free from our Boulder factory at 2746 47th St. Pickup hours are usually noon to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Local delivery within 5 miles of the factory is $15.

• What is reishi mushroom chocolate?

  Reishi mushroom chocolate is dark chocolate infused with reishi, a functional mushroom traditionally used in food cultures associated with balance and rest. Moksha’s version combines organic reishi with small-batch, bean-to-bar chocolate for a slow, intentional chocolate experience.

• What is ceremonial cacao and how is it different from hot chocolate?

  Ceremonial cacao is minimally processed cacao made from whole cacao beans, ground without alkalization or added dairy. It keeps the natural fat, fiber, and compounds of the whole bean. It has a deeper, more complex flavor than conventional hot chocolate. Most people whisk it into hot water, though warm milk works too. Moksha's ceremonial cacao is stone-ground in small batches in Boulder, Colorado.

• What mushrooms are in this gift set?

  Our gift sets include six mushrooms across three kinds of chocolate squares: lion's mane and cordyceps in one; turkey tail, maitake, and chaga in another; and reishi in the third. If your set includes Forest Blend™ paste, it adds six functional mushrooms to the ceremonial cacao. Every mushroom is named on the label.

• When should I eat the Morning mushroom chocolate?

  Morning is the chocolate we make for the start of your day. It's made with 80% single-origin dark chocolate and 500 mg of organic Lion's Mane and Cordyceps per serving, lightly sweetened with coconut sugar. Many people reach for a square with their first coffee or tea, before a focused workday, or ahead of an early hike.

  Cacao naturally contains theobromine, a gentle stimulant, which gives it a steady lift without coffee jitters. Lion's Mane, known as yamabushitake in Japan, has centuries of use in traditional Chinese and Japanese food cultures, and Cordyceps has been prized in Tibetan and Chinese traditions for centuries.   Yes. Cacao paste can be melted into smoothies, oatmeal, energy bites, and desserts. It adds a deep, rich chocolate flavor and works well anywhere you'd use cocoa or chocolate.

• How do I prepare the ceremonial drinking cacao?

  Use about 0.5 ounce per cup, either 3 squares of paste or 2 tablespoons of powder. Paste is more concentrated, so heat 1/4 cup of water or milk for paste, or 6 to 8 ounces for powder, until hot but not boiling, about 170 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit. Whisk or blend until smooth and frothy, then adjust to taste. The cacao is unsweetened, so add a little honey, maple syrup, or coconut sugar if you like it sweeter.

• What's naturally in your ceremonial cacao?

  Our ceremonial cacao is 100% pure, stone-ground whole cacao, so it keeps what's naturally in the bean: theobromine, a gentle stimulant, along with flavanols and minerals including magnesium, iron, and zinc.
